Process charts pLay
Galerie Barbara Wien
23.11.19—25.01.20

The exhibition features a collection of sculptural pieces called Supports for Sitting, Standing, Leaning and Dancing (2019-20), alongside the Untitled (2019) series of eight mixed-media paintings that give geometric symbols new associative meanings. Rörelse I-IV (2019) features lines resembling large-scale graphs, calligraphic marks, or tags drawn directly on the wall. The exhibition's title offers a playful nod to the history of flowcharts, from which the sculptural piece draws inspiration, and the phrase "Process charts pay" from their introduction in 1921. Originally developed as a plastic drawing tool in the mid-20th century to visualise workflow and processes, the flowchart template evolved with the advent of computers and programming.
