Performing the Curatorial explores curatorial motivations, trends, tactics, and challenges in representing cultural heritage through exhibitions. The book features contributions from Doug Ashford, Beatrice von Bismarck, Boris Buden, Clémentine Deliss, Helmut Draxler, Eungie Joo, Marion von Osten, Maria Lind, and Johan Öberg.

The book is the outcome of three seminars held between 2010 and 2011, titled Performing the Curatorial. Maria Lind organized these seminars under the auspices of the University of Gothenburg's heritage studies program. The conclusive seminar was held at The Schildknecht Theatre, Academy of Music and Drama, University of Gothenburg.
