Kunsthaus Glarus
19.05.13—11.08.13
Curator Sabine Rusterholz Petko
The exhibition, titled after an excerpt from Gertrude Stein's novel "Mrs. Reynolds," presents works that reflect on time, loss, balance, repetition, individual and collective dimensions, and limits. Each work engages the viewer in a different kind of reading and relationship with the space, from the rhythmic and meditative photographic installation Inheritance (2013) to the curved walls that lean against each other in What Time Is It? (2009). The display in the basement features a personal selection of landscape and portrait works from the Glarner Kunstverein collection, establishing an atmosphere of austerity and isolation.
