Inheritance
2013
24 photographs on barite paper, each 36,5 x 27,5 framed
70 digital prints on foam board, each 33,3 x 61,5, wooden shelves

Inheritance draws from the artist's late father's photographic archive, capturing everyday life in the Swiss Canton Ticino during the 1970s. The installation presents rephotographed negative sheets from two binders at knee height and a selection of prints at eye level. These prints include passport photos, interiors, sporting and commemorative events, capturing both posed and candid moments. The selection process disregards the negatives' original intention, resulting in a mix of personal stories and collective history.

For the exhibition From Day to Day at Malmö Konsthall in 2020, Inheritance was presented with a new arrangement consisting of a 24-meter low wall, with the framed prints above it at an angle and the rephotographed sheets at knee height.
